The St. Louis Blues are a specialized ice hockey team founded in St. Louis,
Missouri. They participate in the National Hockey League. The Blues were one of
the six teams added to the NHL in the 1967 growth and Oakland Seals, when the
league doubled in size.
"Iron Mike" Keenan was appointed as both general manager and coach prior to the
abbreviated 1995 season, lauded as the "playoff coach" that could cure the
postseason turmoil Blues fans had endured for years. On January 4th, 2007, the
Blues had a record of 6-1-3 in their last 10 games, which was the most excellent
in the NHL. Also, they tied an NHL record for going the most amounts of games
without being scored on in the opening period.
