The Pittsburgh Penguins are a professional ice hockey team based in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. They start play in the National Hockey League as a 1967
development team. The home of the early NHL incarnation of the Pirates during
the 1920s and the successful Hornets American Hockey League franchise from the
1930, which were awarded an expansion team when the NHL doubled in size for the
start of 1967-68.
The Penguins' first general manager was Jack Riley. The first Penguins team was
manned by a cast of former minor-leaguers. The club missed the playoffs in their
first season in the NHL finishing 5th in the close-fought West Division. The
Penguins won an unprecedented draft lottery in the summer of 2005, in which all
thirty teams had weighted chances to win the first overall pick of the 2005 NHL
Entry Draft. The Penguins chose junior league superstar Sidney Crosby from the
Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

| This is my favorite team because I'm also from Pittsburgh. I love my hometown
teams. This team played very wonderfully. I like it played style. The Penguins
are an excellent group. They played enjoyable hockey most of the time, I have
seen every time.
All players of this team are talented but I like Mario Lemieux. He is my forever
favorite player. This is very powerful man. They played different style & I like
it. He is very sporting man.
They have a lot of young talent and this is a great team. Lemieux is the
greatest athlete to have ever played in Pittsburgh. Confidently the vendor can
agree to a good deal with the players to fix the aggressive structure.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have given me much to smile, and I will never stop
watching there match. This is also very hard-working team. In my opinion this is
best team of all these categories. |
